Want to Write a Compelling Query? Three Experts Offer Compelling Advice
Quick, On-Point Expert Advice to Write Your Query
Write a Compelling Query!
A query is a one page pitch that describes your book and you. It’s your best argument for why your book (fiction or non-fiction) needs to be published and why you are the person to write it. Authors submit queries to literary agents and publishers. I consider it one of the “tools” in your book marketing tool box. I recently helped prepare a query for a client and was thrilled in my research to find the following articles chuck full of fabulous information.
Jane Freedman
She also writes a famous publishing newsletter - The Hot Sheet. She is a frequent contributor to at Writers Digest.

Writer’s Digest
Also a fabulous, consistent resource. They have magazine online and in print that caters to writers. The article includes a link to a query service (that I can’t vouch for but the price is right - would love to hear your thoughts)
