Hold on to your seat… or I should say, hold on to your technology instruments because after this podcast episode with Substacker, Author, J.E. Petersen, you may want to toss them out the window… or at least lay them aside for a while.

Jordan Petersen, Substack writer “Dispatches from Inner Space,” and writing under J.E. Petersen, wrote a provocative (and subsequently viral) post titled: The Notebook Rule: How to Get Off The Digital Dope And Reclaim Your Humanity in early January 2024.

Petersen’s post started as a report of sorts - a report on a challenge that he made to himself in his attempt to curtail his use on technology - the problem of technology addiction, how it permeates every aspect of our lives, the effect it has on our happiness, and the results of pulling away from it. Eye-opening and fascinating stuff. Lucky for us, Jordan is going to continue to report on his progress and promises another podcast interview on his progress.

My favorite part of the interview is where Jordan explains how technology is ‘set up’ to eliminate ‘friction’ - fascinating stuff. As well, Jordan’s description of the very real change in his life, his creative work, and his outlook AFTER starting the notebook rule is riveting.
